PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THE PAYMENT NOTICE BELOW.
This is an absolutely beautiful piece of work. I picked this up at an estate sale and paid a pretty penny for it, but just have no place to display it. I never purchased a frame for it, so you will get it looking just as it did when I obtained it.
It measures 8 inches side to side, and just under 5 inches top to bottom. It is in excellent condition. It has been protected all these years by a thin onion skin type of cover. I don't know the terms or correct wording for the materials. This is on what I would call thick poster board, but I'm sure that is not the correct term as "poster board" sounds cheap. I also do not know if this is called a drawing or an etching. I highly believe that this was done with chalk as there is a slight residue on the under side of the onion skin where it lays on the drawing. When I touch that residue from the onion skin (very gently I might add), a very small dusting comes off and it looks like chalk to me.
In the lower right corner area, it is marked "Mt Edgecumbe, Alaska" (although the U looks more like an O). It is then signed "J.T.L. 1943". I have looked everywhere to try to research those initials and this drawing, but can find nothing. Maybe I'm not using the right search words. I see no bends or tears.
Several months ago one of our local historical societies had a street fair and had three historical appraisers there. The public was allowed to bring 3 items for an appraisal. This drawing is one of the items I took. The three appraisers all came to the same estimated value of between $200 to $300. I chose not to pay for the written appraisal, although now wish I had.
DELIVERY CHARGES: Postal Insurance and Signature Confirmation will be mandatory. The delivery charge will be $9, and that price includes the charges for the insurance and signature confirmation.
All items in my listings come from either garage or estate sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
PAYMENT:
PAYPAL WILL NOT BE AN OPTION ON THIS LISTING. THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE PAYMENT WILL BE VIA POSTAL MONEY ORDER or CASHIER'S CHECK DRAWN ON A MAJOR BANK.
